This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on May 2 of 2008 and it is eight pages long. The heading article of this edition is about President Grant Cornwell's inauguration being a success. Professor of law and ethics and the University of Chicago, Martha Nussbaum gave the inaugural address. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has donated $800,000 for the Independent Study program. During April, three laptops were reported stolen from the libraries. Many seniors reflect on their time at the college in articles on pages three through five. This summer, McGaw Chapel underwent renovations to the interior and exterior. One controversial renovation was eliminating the staircase that led to the roof. The college has implemented the ability to choose what meal plan a student might want: Plan A has 288 swipes and $150 in flex, and Plan B has 200 swipes with $450 in flex. Babcock Hall will be undergoing renovations throughout this school year. An update on the college's sports scores and standings are found on pages 7 and 8.

The differences between the presidential candidates--John McCain and Barack Obama--are discussed in the heading article on the first page. The most recent lecturer for the Wooster Forum Series was Jared Cohen; he spoke about Islamic youth. There is a new group on campus known as the Sexuality Support Group and the group was founded by a recent graduate. An article about the Lilly House and Project is on page four. This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on September 19 of 2008 and it is eight pages long. The first page of this edition is dedicated to Senator Joe Biden's (and vice presidential nominee) visit to campus this past Wednesday. The outer effects of Hurricane Ike were seen in Wooster with the high winds, fallen trees, and fallen power lines on Sunday September 14. A major company and employer in Orville, American WeatherSeal, closed its doors permanently leaving upwards of 100 people without jobs. Senior Robert Ippolito spent his summer in Bolivia working with pumas, jaguars, and many other animals. Professor Dale Seeds has wrote a play about Chenega tribe of Alaska. Sophomore Ben Welbourn will be presenting on his experience hiking the Appalachian Trail at the public library in downtown Wooster. Professor of Psychology Sarah Clayton will be working on the American Psychological Association (APA) Task Force on the Interface Between Psychology and Global Climate Change. The author of the required reading for First Year Seminar, Ishmael Beah, was on campus on September 18. Andy Tveekrem '85 had his beers on display at the Wooster Inn on September 17. The heading article on the first page discusses the bill that the Senate just passed regarding the financial system. The Writing Center will be helping with specialized topics this year in a new program. On September 27, John McCain and Barack Obama had their first presidential debate at the University of Mississippi. A white pickup truck that was driving by campus shot a BB gun, a student alerted campus security. After a lengthy battle with cancer, actor and philanthropist Paul Newman passed away last week. The article that heads the first page discusses how the US financial crisis is effecting more than just the US. Presidential (and other positions) debates are continuing to occur. The world's first double arm transplant was successfully done in Munich, Germany. The fountain located next to Lowry was built to honor and remember Dan Lockhart '74 who lost his life in a car accident just a month after graduation. Voting for a third party president would cause the vote make a statement but unfortunately not a difference according to Peter Gernshelmer. The Deborah P. Hilty Endowment Fund helps fund conferences and other similar events. The final presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain occurred on October 15. On Saturday October 18, Lowry Center will be celebrating its 40th birthday. Some photos comparing 1968 Lowry to 2008 Lowry are featured on page three. The first page is dedicated to the celebration of Barack Obama as he winning his first term as president. construction begins on Beall Avenue. Two English majors premiere musical 'Dracula,' which is a musical take on the classic tale of Dracula. An alter in honor of Day of the Dead is set up outside of Old Main Cafe. A display about John F Kennedy is currently on display in Special Collections. A review of the movie "Saw V" is on page six. The current exhibition in the college's art museum is "Art of Africa: Objects from the collection of Warren Robbins," it will run until March 4. Dr. Grant Cornwell will be taking over as president of the college after Stanton Hales' retirement. Robert Walton, Vice President of Finance and Business, has resigned from the college in order to accept the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Claremont University Consortium. The increase in Ohio's minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $6.85 will affect the college financially. The athletic updates for the week are on pages seven and eight. A college hockey team has been created at the Alice Noble Ice Arena.

The first Great Decisions lecture of the season was given by Professor Richard K. Herrmann on, "Can Iraq Be Mended?" Four residents of the basement of Babcock had to spend Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night at the Wooster Inn due to flooding from a second floor toilet. Mom's Java Hut, and Old Main will be offering reusable mugs in order to be more environmentally friendly. The current exhibition on display in special collections include etiquette books from the nineteenth century. The athletics section for the week is on pages seven and eight.

The results of the Moot Court's success at the American Collegiate Moot Court Association National Tournament heads the first page. The student organization Wooster Opposing the War held a protest in downtown Wooster regarding President Bush's decision to send 20,000 more troops to Iraq. The College of Wooster, the YMCA, the 'Gault Recreation and Fitness Center, Health Point and the Wooster Department of Parks and Recreation have teamed up to sponsor a weight loss competition. Dean of Students Kurt Holmes is attempting to revive an old tradition of having an ice skating rink behind Lowry--which this space was originally designed for. A new column in this week's paper is a love advice column given by David Alexander and Yon Chorbajian. Voice Valentines encompass half of page four and half of page five. WAC will be sponsoring a Speed Dating event on the evening of February 14. Three senior theatre majors will present their IS's this weekend. From Febuary 18 to May 20, the Cleveland Museum of Art will have the exhibition "Monet in Normandy" on display. Tuesday night, students went to the arch in order to fulfill a long tradition of filling it with snow. Security called the police, and the police arrested three students. This story is told by Sara Taggart on page one. Two other articles comment on this situation within the newspaper. The administrative coordinator for the communication and theatre department, Patrice Smith decided to donate a kidney to a stranger. Page five has an article by David Yontz about successful Wooster couples that ended up marrying and are still together. Wooster Chocolate Daze will be occurring this weekend where shops will offer chocolate samples. Dr. Tenderhart and Dr. Danger Prince offer love advice on page five. The incidents involving the filling of the Kauke arch are being taken care of including the graffiti that was placed on the ceiling of the arch. The current registrar, Robert Blair, will be retiring at the end of the year. The east parking lots of campus were victim to license plate theft on January 22. Beginning today, February 23, through next Friday, National Eating Disorder Awareness Week will be recognized at the college through discussions, art, and movies. Presidential candidate and senator Barack Obama visited Cleveland, speaking at the Cuyahoga Community College's gym on Monday evening. On February 26, Emily Todd, Wooster alum '03, lectured in the Kauke tower on, "Role and Identity in Grassroots NGOs: Personal Lessons from Nicaragua." The final lecture of the Great Decision's Lecture Series was given by Professor Akwasi P. Osei of Delaware State University. The final two candidates for the registrar position are Suzanne Bates from DePauw University, and Cherie Hatlem from Albion College. A member of the Voice staff, Laura McHugh, gives a reflection on her time in Vienna on page four. A Sadie Hawkins dance on March 3 is being sponsored by the Women of Images. Currently on display on the Lowry art wall is Larry Kirkwood's Body Image Project as part of "Love Your Body Week." The weekly athletic updates are from page seven to eight.

The tuition and fees total has increased to $40,022 for the next academic year. The Graduate Record Examination will be going through format changes. The Board of Trustees for the college met last Thursday through Saturday. The government has decided to extend Daylight Savings Time by a month in hopes to save more energy. Andrew Porter's article on page three defends the Coca-Cola boycott on campus. The campus group, Wooster Opposing the War, wants to educate the students and public about the current war.

Some of the stories include: brick theft, Facebook registration, much of the administration leaving, and the building of a campus prison. Students have the opportunity to study abroad in Amish Country. The Cleveland Museum of Art is going to remain permanently closed. The College of Wooster has been voted the best dressed campus by InStyle.

This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on April 6 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. Wooster's performance of "Nocturne" by Adam Rapp is a finalist in the American College Theatre Festival, and it will be performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. A panel was held last Thursday by students and faculty in order to discuss the controversies of Coca-Cola. Three finalist candidates have been chosen for the new position called 'vice president of enrollment.' The new registrar will be Suzanne Bates. The fifth annual bike race will take place on April 23.
