Published on May 1 of 2009, this edition of the college's student run newspaper is eight pages long. A year round indoor farmers' market which will be called Local Roots Market and Cafe is expected to open by the end of this year. The Swine flu has caused one death in the United States thus far, bringing concern to the college campus. The three Commencement Speakers this year will receive honorary degrees. The Shack restaurant will now be open from 12 to 3am on Friday and Saturday. A tree was planted at the Nursery School in honor of Corey Cline. On April 8, Bob Rodda, Director of Student Activities, Summer Programs, and Lowry Center at The College of Wooster, was awarded the Butts-Whiting Award. Security Reports for April 12 to 20 are featured on page two. Jonah Comstock writes how the housing rates are unfair. Kevin Kordalski won the National College Eating Championship. Douglass Hall won the energy competition that was sponsored by Greenhouse. Highlights from the athletic teams/groups are featured on page seven and eight.

This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on August 28 of 2009, and it is eight pages long. Photos from the Class of 2013 orientation are featured on the first page. Babcock Hall is reopened for the fall after renovations. A new bronze sculpture donated by the Howland Memorial Fund is placed in near Kauke and Timken; it is a globe with other elements placed around it. John P Papp Stadium has new turf, lighting, and other renovations. This summer, Bissman Hall was decorated with Greek Letters and artwork that relate to the groups that occupy the space. A law was passed in Afghanistan a week ago that allows a man to not feed their wife if he is not pleased sexually. This summer, the college offered a work program called WooCorps which provided employment opportunities for students. This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on September 4 of 2009, and it is eight pages long. Duncan Jones, Wooster alum '95 and David Bowie's son, released his first feature film, a member of the Voice staff was able to do a phone interview with him. The first dance party of the year at the Underground (UG) did not end well, the students were disorderly and would not listen to the rules. Soup and Bread will be located in Mackey Hall this year. Holden Annex is closed this year. The new director for the Center for Entrepreneurship is James Levin. Students reflect on the College's website on the fourth page. The current exhibition on display in Special Collections is titled"The Early Textbooks and Primers." This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on September 11 of 2009, and it is eight pages long. Geology Professor Greg Wiles has received a grant from the National Science Foundation to continue his climate change research at Glacier Bay National Park. While the college is searching for a new provost, Shila Garg is filling in as interim provost. Author Tracy Kidder visited campus this past week. Currently, Mom's Truckstop is not providing free water to students. Kacy Ann Cordiel writes about the Sexuality Support Network which is a student run group on campus. The goals of the Committee for a Sustainable Campus are discussed on page five. The art exhibition currently on display in Ebert Art Center is by Alison Elizabeth Taylor and it explores the concept of isolation. The first Covers of the year took place in Kenarden Lodge and the songs all related to the student's favorite state or city. Athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on the last two pages.

A 100 acre land plot of former farmland adjacent to Wooster High School will be converted into what will be known as Oak Hill Park. The community celebrates the 160th Wayne County Fair. One writer reminds students to practice safe sex. International student enrollment is down and the economy might be to blame. Several NPR employees present at McGaw Chapel. Jimmy Wilkinson Meyer, Assistant Editor of Wooster magazine, guest curates the permanent exhibit, "Vice, Virtue, and Contraband: A History of Contraception in America" at Case Western Reserve University. New York Times columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner Nicholas Kristof speaks on campus about women's oppression and empowerment. Wayne County residents, Barbara Raber and Eli Weaver, are convicted of murdering Eli Weaver's wife, Barbara Weaver. The women's soccer team performs exceptionally, with an eleven game winning streak. Chemistry, biology, and molecular biology professor Paul Edmiston receives a $136,269 grant from the National Science Foundation to continue his study of Osorb, a substance he previously discovered while conducting an unrelated study. One students describes her experience meeting former US Poet Laureate Rita Dove, while Dove was on campus to present in Gault Recital Hall.The Center for Diversity and Engagement opens in Babcock Hall.

The College Sustainability Report Card, Green Report Card asserts that the College of Wooster must make major changes in order to become environmentally friendly. The board of trustees visit campus and discuss the possibility of a new campus center. One author discusses the relationship between the college and the city of Wooster. Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, the International Olympic Committee decides that Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will host the 2016 Olympics. The local law enforcements have been noticing an increase in illegal drug abuse around Wooster and all of Ohio. Over winter break Lowry Center will be receiving a small facelift in which a new coffee show/convenience store will be built. Three hockey field goals were damaged on the evening of November 14, two of the three are not able to be fixed. Madelyn Halstead writes on the unhealthiness of the food sold at Mom's on page three. The article that heads page four, "Pacific Gyre: What is plastic doing to us?" discusses the obscene amount of plastic that is floating in our oceans. Kevin Carpenter and Kipaya Kapiga reviewed the restaurant El Campesino on the fifth page. The athletic updates for the week are on pages seven and eight.

Over the next year, Babcock Hall will receive much needed renovations. Associate Professor of Chemistry Paul Edmiston and his student team discovered a non-toxic glass. The Moot Court team is getting ready to compete at the national tournament this weekend. Free travel mugs were given out this past week in an effort to reduce the number of paper cups given out at the coffee shops on campus. A review of the movie Juno and P.S. I Love You is on page five. Judith Green spoke on Tuesday as a part of the Great Decisions lecture series. Katie Foulds wrote an article that is featured on page three regarding hazing and how it is not just limited to Greek groups. One student's experience abroad in India is on page four. An article about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is on page five. The current exhibition at the College of Wooster Art Museum is the Five Colleges of Ohio. Cornwell will be inaugurated as the 11th president of the college on April 26. One students writes about the negatives to nuclear power on page three. The Black Students' Association is sponsoring events this month for Black History Month. Many changes have been made in dining locations to become more eco-friendly. A Wooster student was arrested this weekend in Granville, OH for breaking into a hotel. The Environmental Task Force is sponsoring a competition in the dorms to reduce energy usage. Jenny Investment Club had a 31.4% return rate from last year's investments. The Men's Basketball Team beat Wittenberg at their last game. The latest speaker in the Great Decisions Lecture Series was Catharine Bond Hill, president and professor of economics at Vassar College. Students are campaigning for the Democratic candidates of the upcoming presidential election. An Environmental Studies minor will be offered next year. John McCain and Hillary Clinton won the Ohio presidential primaries this past Tuesday. Bill Clinton campaigned in support of Hillary Clinton on February 29 at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute's (ATI) Student Activities Center. An overview of the annual winter meeting of the Trustees is on the first page. One student writes how public displays of affection are unwelcome in Lowry on page three. Another article discusses the discrimination of the Boy Scouts of America. A new sexuallity support group has been founded on campus. President Cornwell has joined Kappa Chi, he is the first president to join a fraternity. The black squirrels on campus have caused a bubonic plague. ResLife has decided to have puppies installed in each room. Lowry Center has had its roof removed in order to be more green by using natural light.

Contracting companies have been surveying Beall Ave to propose bids to the college for the 'beautification'. Hunger and Homelessness week is sponsored by Peace by Peace from March 31 to April 5. The South Asia Committee is hosting South Asia Week which started on April 1. Grant Cornwell will be officially inaugurated as president of the college on April 26. An article about the course "Criminology and Deviance" taught by Anne Nurse is featured on the first page. Three groups on campus sponsored a talk on undocumented immigrant workers and their rights on April 3. Earth Fest will take place on April 12, this event is organized by Greenhouse and the Artist's Voice House. Many buildings on campus have been recently renovated just in time for President Cornwell's inauguration. On April 17, the Beta Kappa Phi ran from Armington to the Progressive field (60 miles) with a baseball in hand to raise money for cancer research. This past week, Allies & Queers sponsored "7 Days of Gays" to promote homosexuality awareness. Recent alumna, Erin Schaffner '07, has had her research on tomato's published in a prestigious science journal. Junior Megan Connor is establishing a writing center at the Wooster High School.
