This edition of the Wooster Voice, the college's student run newspaper, was published on April 20 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. A new honor code called the Wooster Ethic is being proposed and would go into effect next fall. Four Wooster students, current and alumni, were recognized by the National Science Foundation.
Page four is dedicated to telling the story of the Virginia Tech Massacre. Three articles make up the page, one regarding the resident assistant that was killed, another about how the administration ignored the signs, and the impact the shooting will have on everyone.
The current special exhibition on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art is titled "Monet in Normandy." The annual Spring Dance Concert will be occurring next weekend. The athletics updates for the week are on page seven and eight. -

Visiting Professor of English John Roe presented a lecture on Wednesday titled, "The Watching Eye: Desire and Chastity in "Othello" and, 'A Winter's Tale."" Mary Karen Vellines will be filling the new position of Vice President for Enrollment. Karin Johnson writes on her time abroad in South Africa on page five. This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on May 4 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. The Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16 has raised a lot of anxiety and fears at the college in concern to safety and support systems. A month long competition was held by the Environmental Task Force to see what house and dorm could reduce their energy usage the most. The keynote speaker at this year's commencement ceremony will be Steven Koblik. Ten facts that you may not know about President Stanton Hales are on page four. Eleven junior studio art majors will have their IS on display this Sunday in Ebert. Katie Foulds writes about the extensive that the College of Wooster Art Museum has for teaching and viewing. The first page beings with an article about Wooster's new president, Dr. Grant Cornwell. The Faculty at Large lecture series will kick off on September 18 with presentations given by Jeffrey Lantis, Marina Mangubi and Marilyn Loveless. The Convocation for Wooster's 138th year was held on Tuesday, and a reflection of the Convocation is on page two. The Writing Center space was renovated over the summer. Construction on what will be the college's newest dorm building, Gault Manor, began the week after graduation and is well underway. This edition of the Wooster Voice, a student publication, was published on September 7 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. The new Center for Creativity and Innovation is directed by Reuben Domike. The current exhibition in the College of Wooster Art Museum is "Works on Paper." This exhibit is from the Harmon and Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art, and the AT&T Art Collection. The lounges within the residence halls have been spiced up with flat-screen tv's, new furniture, and game tables. This edition of the College of Wooster's student newspaper was published on September 14 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. The first lecture of this year's Forum Series was Tyrone Hayes, Associate Professor of Integrative Biology at University of California, Berkeley. 85 sophomores and 20 faculty and administrative members attended a retreat on stewardship at the Mohican Resort and Conference Center. In an effort to be more ecologically friendly, Lowry Center has replaced the incandescent light with fluorescent light bulbs. Page five has an article about the Akron Art Museum. This edition of the Wooster Voice was published on September 21 of 2007, and it is a total of eight pages in length. Performance and Conceptual Artist Damali Ayo performed on campus on Wednesday. Jeffrey Brand-Ballard lectured on September 17 on, "Must Judges Respect the Constitution?" On September 15 approximately 40 Wooster students ventured to the US capital in order to protest the Iraq War. Roza Anthony writes about her summer experience working in a nursing home on page three. Zach Goode '99 was the winner of a national video contest which was in support of Hillary Clinton for President. A new restaurant opened up downtown over the summer, and so far it is good. A rally last Thursday sponsored by the Black Students' Association, the college chapter of the NAACP, and the Wooster-Orville NAACP was regarding the "Jena 6' controversy. President Cornwell has a goal to connect with the student body, he is even advising a philosophy IS. The Wooster Volunteer Network hosted "Volunteer Week" this past week. One of the First Year Seminar classes, taught by Thomas Prendergast, deals with the history of food and cannibalism. Artist Alison Saar was on campus on Tuesday for the exhibition, "The Harriet and Harmon Kelley Collection of African American Art: Works on Paper and Selections from the AT&T Art Collection." Kennedy Jr. gave the second Forum lecture. The third Forum lecture was given by Ed Begley Jr. on Tuesday. The seventh annual Scots in Service Day was held on September 29. Six cars have been broken into since September 19. Grace Lynch writes about how students are in need of more flexible meal plans, and it would be nice if left over meal swipes would carry over to the next semester. The zero flexibility of living options for students is discussed by Carlos Cuellar. A review of the South Market Bistro restaurant is on page five. This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on October 12 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. The football team played Ohio Wesleyan this weekend for our Homecoming Game, and ended up winning. The final forum lecture of the year was given by Sandra Steingraber on the relationship between fetal health and the environment. Four people were injured after a shooting at SuccessTech Academy in Cleveland. Professor of Chemistry Paul Edmiston has been working with other chemists and an engineer in developing a sensor that detects explosives. The first lecture of the year sponsored by the archaeology department was given by Kenneth Harl from Tulane University on Iconoclastic controversy. Small changes have been made regarding meals including take out options in Lowry and the use of two swipes at Java Hut on the weekend. A birdwatching group called CoWBirders meets on Saturday mornings and travels to places nearby to observe the birds. Photos from Homecoming Weekend are on page five. A blank white wall was found outside of Lowry when students arrived back from fall break. This wall was a project for students to be more aware of the power of words. The group Wooster Opposing the War held a small rally downtown last weekend. A meditation group on campus called Sitting practices Zen Buddhism concepts. The next exhibition on display in the College of Wooster Art Museum is opening on November 13, it is titled "Northeastern Waters." A new Lowry Center and Physical Education Center are being envisioned for the future, and President Cornwell is making sure to get the opinions of the students. A review of the production of Cabaret is done by Missie Bender on the first page. The second faculty at large presentation was given by Professor Mangubi on Northern Baroque landscapes and math. Professor of sociology at Yale University, Elijah Anderson, spoke in Lean Lecture last week on, "Violence and the Inner City Poor." Some students on one of the athletic's teams contracted Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and the rest of the student was not informed. This edition of the Wooster Voice was published on November 9 of 2007, and it is eight pages long. 11.3 million dollars are being put towards the beautification of Beall Ave. The local elections from early November were dominated by Republican party popularity. The International Program in Babcock is beginning to advertise their events this year in order to gain more popularity. Students had to evacuate Lowry mid dinner on Friday night due to a staff member smelling a possible gas leak. The student environmental group, Greenhouse, sponsored "We Recycle Week" this past week. Student ideas and lifestyles are being taken into consideration for the new athletics center and Lowry center. Campus Grounds has been awarded the Green Star award from the Professional Grounds Management Society. Classes were cancelled last Wednesday at Denison University in order to address recent racial and homophobic occurrences. Recipes for meatless Thanksgiving dishes are on page four. A Harry Potter dinner and book drive was held in Kittredge last Thursday. The annual Fall Dance Concert will occur on November 16 and 17 at 8:15pm. The men's basketball team was defeated by Lake Erie College last Sunday. Wooster will be hosting the annual Midwest Regional Tournament this Friday and Saturday. Anatole Ayissi, senior political advisor of the United Nations Secretary General Special Representative in West Africa, spoke on Tuesday on the tensions in Darfur, Sudan. Marty Schneider and Katie Foulds debate the pros and cons of vegetarianism. The four Christian groups on campus will be participating in a 24 hour fast beginning at 5:45pm on Friday. The heading article of the first page is regarding the resignation of SGA President Michael Prohaska '06 for an incident that occurred prior to winter break. The celebration of Martin Luther King Jr lasted throughout the week of January 16 with the theme "Through King's Eyes: Race, Class and Wooster." Nancy Ditmer, professor of music, will be awarded the Distinguished Service Award for 2006 by the Ohio Music Education Association. Westminster Church House sponsored a taste test to earn money for a good cause, in which Smuckers participated in. Two special pages are included in this edition to discuss the dangers of alcohol. This edition of the Wooster Voice was published on January 27 of 2006, and it is eight pages long. The first lecture in the Great Decisions lecture series was given by Erin Kelly, a professor of philosophy at Tufts University, on January 25. Students on Academic Probation will not be able to participate in extra-curricular activities that conflict with classes. Registration will be moving online to a website that will be called Scotweb. Over spring break, eleven Wooster students headed to Gautier, Mississippi in order to help with hurricane relief efforts. The current exhibition at the art museum is the "Five Colleges of Ohio Student Biennial" where student artwork from the Consort Colleges are shown. Pledge week has been frozen for 96 hours in order to investigate claims of hazing. President Hales will be retiring in June of 2007. Page five is dedicated to President Hales, giving a timeline of his life. Liz Miller writes about her experience of finally getting a cell phone and how it has impacted her. February 1 marked the beginning of Black History Month, many activities and speeches will be occurring throughout the month. An article about the rapid growth of Diabetes is on the first page. New Member Education was reinstated by President Hales on Friday. Tuition is increasing by $2,080 for next school year. Ideas for Valentine's Day, some history, love songs, and Voice Valentines are all on page four. A review of the store located downtown, Friendtique, is on page five. Students did not take the tuition increase well at all, the increase was by 6.3%. The judicial reports from the first semester are included on the first page. From February 16 to 18, Wooster will be hosting the Roundtable for International Student Advisors. Parking is still an issue, and parking policies need to be enforced better. The Africana Studies Department is in need of more faculty in order to survive well. Page four features a half page article about the campus photographer, Matt Dilyard. Gillian Helwig's article is about etiquette: grooming, style, and thank-you notes. Five students were chosen to represent February fashion on campus. The college will be hosting the men's basketball North Coast Athletic Conference this weekend, and is asking for the crowd and athletes to have good sportsmanship. The release of the new Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is delayed by a year. Registrar ran a simulation for registration in order to fix any issues the system may have. The fifth Great Decisions Lecture of the year was given by Oberlin College Professor Marc Blecher on Tuesday evening. Students need to be more environmentally friendly according to Karin Johnson's article. Chris beck is requesting that seniors get free housing during spring break since their IS is due directly after. The Sexual Assault Policy will be undergoing its biennial review this year through a committee headed by the Dean of Students. National Eating Disorders Awareness Week events kicked off on Monday. The last Great Decisions lecture for the year was given on February 28 by David Hendrickson, his speech was titled, "Will America Decline?" A select bunch of faculty have their literary successes highlighted on page two. Brian Frederico writes on protesters that show up at military funerals on page three. This weekend students can watch and participate in Get a Clue Murder Mysteries' Mobster's Menu for Murder which will be performed in the Kenarden Main Lounge. An image of the new Gault Manor room set up is on page four. Sarah Brown's article on page four discusses the Relay for Life event. This edition of the Wooster Voice, known as the Wooster Vice, is the April Fools edition of the newspaper. It features made-up articles and stories. Some of the articles include a fight that occurred at the Underground, the hospitality staff was replaced by robots, and new housing alternatives saving $6,000. Rape whistles are being replaced by guns and rifles. One student is struggling with their addiction to Facebook. A brand new Physical Education Center (PEC) will be built by 2052.

This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper, The Wooster Voice, was published on April 7 of 2006, and it is eight pages long. Registration will take place online this year using the database Scotweb. A lecture by Professor of English at Oberlin College, Pat Day, was sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta. Day spoke about the 1933 "King Kong" film. The Greeks were threatened with an email right after spring break that they would need to fill Bissman fully or some to all of the members would be removed to allow others to live there. Two juniors, Stephen Poprocki and Margaret Timmers, were chosen to receive the Goldwater Scholarship. Justine McCullough writes about this year's IS Monday celebration on page four. Also on the fourth page are the shortest, longest, most unique, tongue twisters, and advanced titles. Photos from the celebration are on the fifth page. The executive assistant to secretary, Sally Whitman has completed her thirteen year journey to receiving her undergraduate degree at Wooster.
