This is the Wooster Voice from January of 2011. The front page of this edition features a disturbing article about the attempted abduction of a female first year student on Beall Ave. The student, thankfully, was able to escape the abductors and informed/filed a report with security and the Wooster Police Department. The pages that follow include an article about the fallout of the Haitian earthquake, an article about changes to the student dining plan, student viewpoints, and Wooster street style. The current exhibition at the College of Wooster Art Museum is titled "Trees: an interdisciplinary dialogue." Page six has movie reviews for The King's Speech, Black Swan, and Blue Valentine. The athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on pages seven and eight.

The front page of this edition features an article regarding speculation about the Chief of Wooster Police, Steven Glick, becoming the new director of security at the college. Ian Carlin '11 will receive the John Bart King award for the best US born American college cricket player. The following page includes an article about a successful uprising in Tunisia. Madelyn Halstead writes about the difficulty of crossing Beall Ave, and also driving on Beall Ave without illuminated crosswalks. An overview of the senior etiquette dinner is on page six. The rest of the newspaper includes student viewpoints, student cartoons, and arts and entertainment. The athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on pages seven to eight.

This is the Wooster Voice from February of 2011. The front page of this edition of the newspaper includes a large article about a snow day. Following an intense winter storm that left all of campus encased in a thick layer of ice, the first snow day in decades was called for the college. Students took advantage of the day off, enjoying the icy weather to the best of their abilities. An article on page two discusses the ineffectiveness of aphrodisiacs. Because of the extensive focus on IS, students are hardly able to focus on post-Wooster plans (i.e. grad school, jobs, etc.). There is a small piece regarding the reusable mug program. The pages that follow include an article about an anti-abortion group, an article about the inefficiency of aphrodisiacs, security briefs, student viewpoints and student Valentines on page five. The athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on pages seven and eight of this edition.

This is the Wooster Voice from February of 2011. The front page of the newspaper includes an article about a lecture given by two sexperts, Marshall Miller and Rachel Dart, about the importance of the female orgasm. A company has created a brownie, called Lazy Cakes, which have melatonin and calming herbs baked into them. The page also includes an article reporting on the prices of MacLeod's, a convenience store nicknamed the "C-store" by students. The following pages include an article about the Egyptian revolution, student viewpoints and cartoons, and arts and entertainment. A study done on rats shows that they exercise better when not lonely. The WoosterStreetStyle section highlights backpacks this week. The athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on pages seven and eight.

This is the Wooster Voice from February of 2011. The front page of this edition of the Voice includes an article about a change in alcohol policy which grants upperclassmen more social freedom. There is another article on this page regarding Independent Study seminars. Security briefs are featured on the second page. The pages that follow include an article about the 2012 budget for the Obama administration, student viewpoints, an advice column from current professors at the college, arts and entertainment, and college athletics. Words from professors encouraging struggling seniors about IS are featured on the fourth page. The Wooster Inn is sponsoring a wine class to teach the basics about consuming wine.

This is the Wooster Voice from March of 2011. The front page of this edition includes articles about tuition raising to $47,600 and about the SGA President discussing issues with Obama in Cleveland. Students are protesting the slow internet on campus. The following pages of the newspaper include an article about the Libyan revolution, student viewpoints, arts and entertainment, and college athletics. A student who studied abroad in Paris wrote about how their perspective of Paris changes the longer they were there. Woo 91 has revamped their website so that it is easier to use. The Scot Center will have solar panels installed on the roof.

This is the College of Wooster's April Fools edition of the Wooster Voice called the Wooster Vice. All of the articles are fake and jokes surrounding Wooster culture. The paper is nine pages long. The heading article on page one is regarding Charlie Sheen visiting the campus. Horoscopes are given on the first page. Senior Kristie Smith will be delivering her baby in the Kauke Arch in late April. An IS of entirely tweets by Sandra Twitt will be presented on Friday.

This is the Wooster Voice from April of 2011. The first page of this edition includes a large article regarding the death of Cooper Larsh, a first year student who died tragically in a skiing accident in Colorado. Another article in this issue of the Voice focuses on the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown in Japan following a large earthquake on March 11th. The earthquake was a 9.0 on the Richter scale and caused unimaginable destruction to Tokyo, Japan, and caused the meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant. The rest of the newspaper includes student viewpoints, a section on arts and entertainment, and college athletics.

This is the Wooster Voice from April of 2011. The front page of this issue includes articles about a carnival, budget issues, and college-sponsored roundtables. The carnival, The Cavalry Carnival, will take place on April 30 in the Kennedy parking lots and will be free for students. There is an article about equal pay and the pay gap on page three. The following pages of this issue include security briefs, student viewpoints, and information about Springfest. This issue ends with articles regarding arts and entertainment, and college spring athletics including baseball.

The college is greatly debating the addition of a new freshman dorm to campus since each new class keeps growing in size. It is unsure where this new dorm would go, and if there is even space for it. In the national news side column on the first page, a six year old boy in Austin, Texas had a gun fall out of his pocket in the cafeteria, he and two other children were injured. The College of Wooster was chosen to participate in the "Choose Kellogg's and Help Fight Hunger" campaign. The bottom of the second page has the security briefs section. The third page has an article about the concerns of a student for the amount of unhealthy food options the college gives. Two seniors did their independent study on HIV/AIDS in the United States and Ghana, this article is on page five. A review of the Spring Dance Concert that occurred last week is on page six. The sports section can be found on page seven through eight of this edition of the Wooster Voice.

The Delta Theta Psi sorority held a book drive last week for books for elementary students, they received $300 and 724 books. In 2012, Nintendo will launch a Wii 2. Kittredge shut down during the 2010-2011 academic year and will likely not re-open anytime soon despite the 500 students who want it to. Last Sunday, 540 prisoners of an Afghanistan prison, and also members of the Taliban escaped from prison. On page three, Anthony Dominguez wrote an article about the speculation of Donald Trump running for president in the 2012 election.

The first page of this newspaper shares that news that Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the happenings of 9-11, has been killed. Prince William and Catherine Middleton were married last Friday at Westminster Abbey, having the largest royal wedding in three decades. Luce Hall had to be evacuated Saturday morning because a pipe had burst in the French Suite bathrooms. Those who had lived in the French Suite will be staying in a hotel for the rest of the year. 2008 alumni Jack Briggs is creating a internet site named 'MonsterChat' where up to 25 people will be able to simultaneously video chat. Harassment on Beall Avenue has increased this past year. Campus Security Briefs can be found on page two. The Hot Club of Detroit will be playing a free concert this evening.

This edition of the Wooster Voice was published January 15 of 2010, and it is eight pages long. Haiti was hit by a 7 magnitude earthquake this past Tuesday. Lowry Center was given a face lift over winter break including a new convenience store, updated bookstore, and renovated mailroom. The left column on page two features local, national, and world news. Don Jacobs' Physics 220 class had to create robot for their final rather than taking an exam. California's Proposition 8 has been taken to the federal court, and they are hearing arguments for and against this proposition which defines marriage as being between a man and a woman. This proposition made same sex marriage illegal. Usman Gul wrote an article on page three about how difficult it is to be a vegetarian since many foods and products that exist contain parts of an animal. Laney Austin wrote a review of the new look of the COW cards. The current exhibition in the Ebert Art Center museum is "War in Iraq." Current movie reviews are on the sixth page including: Avatar, The Princess and the Frog, and Sherlock Holmes. Pages seven and eight feature the weekly athletic updates.

This edition of the Wooster Voice was published on January 22 of 2010, and it is eight pages long. The article that heads the first page is a reaction about the earthquake that has devastated Haiti. The campus will be having a Bean and Rice dinner in which part of the meal swipes will be going to relief efforts. A $250,000 grant has been given to ABS materials by Jumpstart. ABS materials was founded by chemistry professor Paul Edmiston. The three finalists for Wooster's first Provost position are described on the second page. Local, national, and world news stories are included on the left column of the second page, including a hippo escaping from the Montenegro Zoo. Joseph McCarthy has written a biased review of President Obama's past year in office. John McGovern struggles to define a hipster on page four. Hannah Tilorlo-toth replies to Usman Gul's article from last week regarding vegetarianism. The noon lunch rush in Lowry is proving to be chaos after the closing of Kittredge. This edition of the Wooster Voice, published January 29 of 2010, is eight pages long. The members of the senior class have the option to attend one of the four dining etiquette classes that are being offered. Wooster's Moot Court team placed in the final four for the American Collegiate Moot Court Association National Tournament. A two year $600,000 grant was given to the Five Colleges of Ohio by the Andrew W Mellon Foundation in order to digitize curricular resources. In the Local, National, and World news section, one bit is about how the Amish have a lower rate of receiving cancer, and another piece stated that a man, Rico Dibrivell, had been found alive in a pile of rubble which he had been in for two weeks in Haiti. The Wellness lecture series will continue through February. For her senior IS, Kimberly Krall is studying the paint pigments on the College of Wooster's mummy. The article that heads the first page is about President Obama's State of the Union Address and a reflection upon his past year in office. Rakhal Purkayastha, visiting professor of history presented on the history of Northeast India on Tuesday. Page two has the upcoming schedule of events that the college is hosting or supporting for Haitian relief efforts. The archaeology department sponsored the visit of Michael L. Galaty of Millsaps College. This speaker presented on his research on the Shala tribe in Albania. The weekly athletic updates are on pages seven and eight.

Matthew Yannie's article is about how the library needs to stay open later than 1am. Page four is filled with the Voice Valentine's that were submitted. The Eating Disorder Advocates of Ohio will be hosting events over the next week for National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. On Tuesday morning, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Louisville John Hale presented on Viking longships. On February 16, Professor Gregory Shaya of the history department presented the first lecture of the Faculty at Large series titled, "Man Bites Dog and Other News Fantasies: Sensationalism in Late 19th and Early 20th Century France." Page two has a list of the campus security reports over the last week. Laney Austin wrote an article on page three about how to avoid being awkward at Wooster. Brandelle Knights' article on page four is about the almost president of the college in 1995, Susanne Woods, and why she possibly withdrew from the position. This edition of the Wooster Voice, published on February 26 of 2010, is eight pages long. The men's basketball team will be playing this weekend for the NCAC title. An article on the first page reflects upon Black History Month and its past. Over spring break, the bookstore, copy center and registrar's office will have extended hours in order to accommodate the needs of seniors working on their IS. Nine Wooster students will be heading down to Tijuana, Mexico to help build houses for those in need. The trip is sponsored by Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster. Madelyn Halstead and Elle Bloom wrote an article on page four about the figure skaters that made history in the 2010 Olympic Games including Evan Lysacek. This year's Gala, planned by WAC, will have the theme of the Roaring 20's. Michael O'Duffy replies to the typical Irish stereotypes. This edition of the Wooster Voice, published on April first of 2010, is eight pages long. This issue is called the "Wooster Vice." It is the April Fools edition, featuring articles that are made up and meant to be jokes.
The Greek's are going to throw an all-campus party in Timken Library. Page two has an article about how next year's incoming freshman will be placed into dorms with the Sorting Hat. President Cornwell does not wear a helmet when riding his bicycle. The Library will be closed on Saturday and Sunday in order to reduce electricity and save the environment. Lowry Dining Hall is a five star restaurant, students are lucky to have it. Tim Burton had been chosen to direct the last Harry Potter film: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Johnny Depp was chosen to replace Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Burton's next project will be directing "High School Musical 4." The theater department will be adding to its major in order to be "The Department of Theatre and Dance and Clown and Mime." Next season's swimming meets will have weapons incorporated into the competition in order to increase viewing popularity.

Plans were announced last Wednesday by President Obama to expand offshore drilling with hopes to strengthen domestic oil and natural gas production. On April 2 approximately 150 men participated in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. Lowry is changing around its meals and labels in order to become more vegetarian and vegan friendly. On Tuesday Jacqueline Grossman spoke in Lean Lecture on her escape from the Nazi invasion of France and how it impacted her life. Professor of Music Nancy Ditmer has been offered the job of President for MENC: National Association of Music Education. Page four has an article about the black lab puppy people have been seeing around campus, and how she is being trained to be a guide dog. Jennifer Graber, Professor of Religious Studies will have her book, "The Furnace of Affliction: Religion and The Prisons in Antebellum America," published at the end of this year. On April 17 the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter will be hosting a walk in Wooster. A review of Nicholas Knodt's Senior IS exhibition is on page six. The new recreation/athletics facility should be completed in 2010, the plans are discussed within the article on the first page. Five students in the current senior class will spend next year teaching English in France. The Alumni Board returned to campus this past week to work with students, especially seniors, to figure out their post-grad plans. An article regarding the "unfairness" of the room selection process is on the third page. Grace Hansen reflects on a queer teenager's prom experience, or lack thereof, in Mississippi. Charles Horenstein interviewed author Nin Andrews when she was on campus on the 21st, the interview is on page six. The athletics updates for the week are on pages seven and eight.

This edition of the Wooster Voice, the college's student ran newspaper, was published on April 30 of 2010, and it is eight pages long. This year's Baccalaureate speaker will be Reverend Thomas Long. A controversial immigration law was signed last week by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, this law will require immigrants to carry documents verifying their immigration status. The current art wall in Lowry was provided by the Student Advocate's for Diversity, and it addresses "Why we care." On Tuesday, comedian Christian Finnegan performed on campus to a crowd of approximately 800. The article on page six discusses the Studio Art major's Senior IS pieces that have been on display in one of the museum's galleries for the past month. The other gallery features an exhibition of Andy Warhol's photographs. The weekly athletic updates are on the seventh and eight page.
