This edition details an over flow of 116 plus students due to delayed dormitory repairs in Holden Hall. Professor of Religion and former dean at the College of Wooster, Dr. James Milton Vance, passed away. Wooster welcomes 15 new staff members to the campus. Additionally, the Voice offers some words to start off the new academic year. A freshman directory will be available for approximately $1.40 a copy. An article about the for-comings of the Independent Study is on the second page. The student directory should be available for $.30 by October 14. The Student Senate is making an effort to have washing machines installed in the dorms that will be coin operated. Athletic updates are highlighted on the third page along with the football roster on the fourth page.

Nick Amster speaks to Mr. Ellsworth's class in American Social History on issues that immigrants face. Finally there is an article on the differences in Latin American and United States/Anglo-Saxon politics and elections.

Dalziell as Vice-President of the college, the first to serve as vice-president in 47 years. An article recaps the successful Dogpatch Dance. Women have voted in favor of a coed dinner on Sunday's. Additionally, the Ninth section officially inaugurated its new home on Beall Avenue. The socialist candidate for president, Norman Thomas, will be speaking at the school on January 22. This year's Gum Shoe Hop will be based on the script written by Jim Colaneri titled, "You Can Have It." The Gum Shoe Hop will be performed on March 6 through 8. This year's Week of Prayer is being held February 16 through the 20, and will be led by Dr. M. D. McLean. Color Day will be taking place on May 10. The athletics section is on the third page of this edition of the Voice.

The men's sections are pledging almost 200 new members, 193 to be exact. All of the pledges and their section are listed on the first and last page. Presidential candidate Normal Thomas spoke in Taylor Hall a couple weeks ago, his speech is discussed on the first page. The game captains will be holding the National Intercollege Duplicate Bridge Tournament this Saturday in Babcock. Dr. M. D. McLean will be leading this year's week of prayer which will occur February 16 through 20. President Lowry gave his opening address of the spring semester on the concept of integrity. Beginning February 16, Dr Milton D. McLean, will be the guest speaker for the Week of Prayer. The college will be backing the Career Week with $450. There is an article on the first page regarding the fact that men do not have much money to spend on Valentine's Day. On February 28, the Douglass Council will be sponsoring a formal dance. Page two features an interesting letter from the current 'Wooster-In-India' delegate about his journey to India. It also forebodes the upcoming partition of India. The weekly athletics section can be found on the third page of this edition of the Voice.

The Big Four will be holding their next clothes drive in the near future, and this Saturday the funds raised at the Howie Simon will go towards the Mose Hole Appreciation Fund. Six students have submitted scripts to be considered for the Gum Shoe Hop play. The Index may not be completed by the deadline, but the editors are hopeful. Two Wooster students were injured in a car accident on February 18. G.I. Garrison, a former Wooster student stationed in Japan, writes to the Voice on page two. The third page has the weekly athletics updates. Page four is a continuation of articles from the earlier pages, as well as advertisements.

The Red Cross has set the goal of their ten day campaign at $500. Kenarden is getting a new lounge in the south end of the basement, and it may be finished by the end of this year. On Thursday evening, Wooster's 33rd annual Gum Shoe Hop opened. The third page has the weekly sports updates. On Wednesday morning students at the chapel voted on whether they were for or against compulsive military training. 349 students were against the compulsive military training.

Ann Cook, Betty DeLaney, Jean Horn, Mariana Paull, Pat Perm and Julia Steiner are competing to reign as Color Day Queen. On the evening of March 23 Career Week will begin. The following careers listed on pages two and three will be addressed during career week: social work, publishing, engineering, law, physics, library, ministry, education, government work, and dentistry. The May Queen will be announced at the junior dance next Friday. Page four is where the weekly athletics updates are located.

The May 10 Color Day pageant cast has finally been determined and the names are included on the far left column of the first page. The Little Theater has just performed the play, "The Barretts of Wimpole Street." The Senate at their meeting on Monday evening discussed the Gum Shoe Hop's financial report. Fred Bowman and Harrold McComas both placed high at the speech contests held at Wittenberg College. The Red Cross drive ended $27 dollars over their $500 goal. The second page has a comic telling the students to stop walking on the grass. The third page has the athletics updates.
