Sunday February 27 begins the annual week of prayer. It kicks off with Reverend James Robinson of New York City. March 17 through the 23 will be the annual career week. Joe Retzler discussed China's economic problems in an article on page one. The drama, history, and political science honorary all initiated new members into their group the past few weeks. James Allardice, a Wooster alumni, will have his play At War With the Army on Broadway beginning March 8. The sports section can be found on page three of this edition of the Voice. Page four features an article that questions the idea of an Honor System.

This edition includes a series on the upcoming elections at the College of Wooster for both, the Senate as well as for May Queen. An article in this paper describes the elections for the Senate Head, where a student ran uncontested and was thus elected as the Head of Student Senate by default. Sylvia Williams is named Wooster Voice editor, assisting her are Mary Ann Early as associate editor and Brent Loban as sports editor. The Wooster Voice was awarded the Scripps-Howard gold cup for journalism at the annual convention of the Ohio College Newspaper Association. Additionally, Student Senate creates new rules regarding smoking on campus after two smoking related fires on campus.

This edition details the events of college's 45th Color Day. Herb Benson is elected president of the Men's Self Government Association. The third section won the serenade contest. The new officers of the social clubs have been elected and are listed on the first page. The athletic highlights for the past week are on the third page. Six Wooster students will spend their summer studying abroad rather than going home.

This edition includes a photo of former Color Day Pageant Queen, Mignonne Addis, passing the crown to Ann Reid. Dr. Karl T. Compton, M.I.T. chairman and chairman of the Research and Development Board of the National Military Establishment in Washington, D.C. will speak at the 79th graduation ceremony. A revised student handbook will be sent out this summer. The all college picnic is scheduled for tomorrow at 4pm. Campus Council has approved the formation of a new social club which is called KEYS. Three professors will return to campus next fall and thirteen others will be gone. Additionally, there is an advertisement for a concert by Wooster's Symphonic Band. Page three has the athletic highlights for the past week. Art produced by students of the art department will be on display in Josephine Long Wishart museum in Galpin Hall until May 26. An advertisement for the Air Force encompasses a large amount of the fourth page.

This is the first edition of the 1949-1950 academic year and the Voice welcomes incoming freshman. There are 302 incoming freshman, and more men in general on campus. Freshman directories will be available by September 30. With the addition of new professors, campus faculty reaches 98 members. The number of students enrolled at Wooster is over 1200. The Student Senate puts new rules in place regarding the campus chapel in order to prevent "chapel chiseling." Athletic updates for the past week are on the third page. Approximately half of the final page is taken up by advertisements from local stores.

This edition advertises a production of the Shakespearean comedy "The Taming of the Shrew," being director Winfred Logan. Seven international students from six different countries, join Wooster as new students. Beall Hall, former home of Capt. Kauke, is active as no more than a storage space on campus. The women of the upperclass dorms elect their officers for the year. Additionally, the issue includes an article expressing excitement for a skirmish between the freshman and sophomores.

Rushes will be entering their last rounds this weekend. Additionally, the college placement office (registrar) warns of a decline in job demand, as they place a majority of graduates in teaching positions. John Bathgate's article on page two discusses his experience at an Indian Wedding last winter. Athletic updates for the past week are highlighted on the third page. This edition details the kick off of Wooster's 31st Homecoming celebration. The college speech department announces broadway artists Helen Craig and John Beal appear in Wooster's presentation of "Antigone." Brought to campus by Phi Beta Kappa, philosopher Irwin Edman is set to speak on "Philosophy and Our Current Anxieties." Additionally, thirteen upperclassmen interested in the study of current political events were elected by the Congressional Club.

Paul Barrett opens a new office for career counseling in the east wing of lower Kauke. Congresswoman Frances Payne Bolton was brought to campus by WSGA and spoke on foreign affairs on Tuesday evening. The college holds its 23rd annual Dad's Day celebration. Dr. Carl E. Barnes, Associate Director of the Research Laboratory of the General Aniline and Film Corporation, presents a talk entitled "Color Photography." Wooster Symphony Orchestra and 130 college voices under the direction of Mr. Richard Gore present Handel's "Messiah." Athletic updates for the past week are on page three. Additionally, the issue advertises a minstrel show put on by the Douglass Carnival. An advertisement for the Air Force takes up a large amount of the fourth page.

The edition advertises the 40th annual reading of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol" by Dr. Delbert Lean. The College of Wooster won first place in the Northeast Ohio Debate Conference at Western Reserve. The college's radio station, WCW, will begin broadcasting again next semester. Paul Wright heads the cast of "The Tinker", which is the Week of Prayer play directed by senior Joyce Kinsey. The final student to study in Washington DC next semester will be announces this evening. Additionally, Wooster Alumni of the class of 1946 establishes a fund to aid the two orphaned children of former classmates, Dr. and Mrs. James Timanus who died in the tragic S.S. Noronic fire in Canada.

This issue of the Wooster Voice features reports on campus elections for several groups, a basketball report, Greek initiations, a few sermons, and a biography of Wooster Professor Dr. William Craig, head of the Department of Speech, paying special attention to his nationally known love of puns. Page 2 features a piece arguing that exams are not a good gauge of student learning owing to the ease with which one may cram for an exam and pass a course, and the unfairness of making a professor read hastily and often sloppily written essays. There is also a series of quotes taken from students asked about the policy of mandatory attendance. Page 3 is the sports section, and page 4 consists of continued articles, advertisements, a piece on class registrations, and a fiction piece.

Page 2 features a piece arguing that fining those who miss Chapel service is detrimental to the Christian project. This issue highlights the Girls' Chorus for opening the College's week of prayer with a concert. There is an article detailing a criminal attack on the campus chapel, in which the the attackers released tear gas and rodents. Dr. James W. Clarke, Canadian Pastor is visiting campus. Five Wooster students attended the Ohio College Council on Minority meeting in Columbus, Ohio on Monday. Additionally, this edition includes a piece by Jack Bobbitt titled "After the Wind." Athletic updates for the past week or so are highlighted on the third page. There is an advertisement for a corset on the final page which uses the phrase, "Whittle Your Middle."
