This first newspaper for the 1962-1963 school year opens up with an article about the enrollment numbers. A total of 1,385 students have registered to be a student here, fifty over the previous highest. Three speakers will be participating in the "Dialogue in Politics" program from October 23 to November 9. From October 5 to 6, the first Great Lakes College Association conference will be held at the college. The 1962 Index will likely not be ready until October. The Voice will be surveying the chapel attendance of the staff for the semester and will be publishing the results at the end of the semester. An architect has been authorized to study the property and come up with a building plan for a new men's dormitory to house the sections. On October 18, the Goldovsky Grand Opera Theater will be performing Verdi's La Traviata in the gymnasium. The Looking Ahead column gives a list of ways in which Wooster could be approved. This summer, Parker Myers and Mrs. H. Gray Multer passed away, they are honored in the memoriam column. There will be no cross country team this fall due to the lack of interest and skill. Pages four and five introduce the athletics teams and their updates. This years pipe band will consist of six members. Their uniform consists of new caps, feathers, plaids, belts and pipe ribbons. One of the new pipers will also be teaching Constitutional Law, Mr. David Funk. Freshman run-out has been vetoed by the Dean.

Five students are vying for the title of 'Homecoming Queen': Betsy Edwards, Anna Hansel, Jan How, Nancy Stauffer, Phyllis Tubia. The Student Christian Association will be bringing five speakers to campus this year for the Theological Lecture Series. The rushing season will be kicked off by the Inter-Club Council picnic on September 29. Hygeia will continue to offer the three dose immunization series for polio known as Sabin even though Canada is questioning the effectiveness. The Student Senate elections will take place this coming Monday. Dean Bricker has released the names of those who made the highest honor roll. The Little Theater will be performing The Miracle Worker for Homecoming weekend. The Just Published column gives some books that the library received this week that could be of interest to the students including: Gladys Shultz's Jenny Lind, The Swedish Nightingale, Louis Nizer's My Life in Court, and many others. Dean Bricker is cracking down on car's; they should only be used for what is on the permit.

Fulbright scholarships for study abroad or graduate research are now available to apply for. This year's homecoming play, Miracle Worker, will run from Wednesday to Saturday. The results of homecoming court and the student senate are within this newspaper. 921 students have signed up to participate in the Brotherhood meals. The Great Lakes College Association Conference will play host to forty representatives from twelve schools. An article about the Gillespie Professor of Eastern Studies, P. T. Raju, is on the second page. The Andrews Library has added five new staff members. The independent study carrels should arrive by December first. Page three has an article dedicated to bagpipes and their history. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be visiting campus this coming Tuesday. Page four is headed by an article about the sailing club.

The new Kauke Arch known as the Delmar Archway, will host a ceremony tomorrow marking the completion of Kauke's remodeling. Betsy Edwards, this year's homecoming queen, will be crowned at the half-time of tomorrow's football game. German professor, Dr. William I. Schreiber, has completed research for his book Our Amish Neighbors. Four alumni will receive awards at the second annual Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony. Page three has an article by Joann Allwein about the homecoming play Miracle Worker. The WCW radio station will kick off the school year this Sunday.

For Parent's Day celebrations, the Little Theater is performing the play Little Mary Sunshine. At this year's Wooster-in-India dinner, Fred and Jo Cunningham will be speaking. Sherman Adams will be one of the guest speakers for the Dialogues in Politics program. The Lister Spanish Seminar Room is now open for use on the ground floor of the Andrews Library. Smoking in the women's dorms has been approved by the Board of Trustees. The athletics section is on the third page. The women who will participate in pledging from Wednesday to Friday are listed on the fourth page.

Next Thursday, the new members of Phi Beta Kappa will be recognized at the recognition day next Thursday. Twenty-one junior and senior students have been nominated by the college to be included in the, "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities." Phil Brown has written an article about the visit of Sherman Adams. Members of Eta Sigma Phi are attending the Ohio Classical Conference in Toledo. Ten students are October graduates receiving Bachelor of Arts. Pages four and five are where the athletics section can be discovered. Geri Rahrer has written an article about Mr. Michael Davis's violin concert that was last Sunday. The listening room of the library is where students can take a class to improve their reading skills, the program is given by Baldridge Reading Services.

The heading of this newspaper announces a $400,000 grant from the will of Dr. William E. Henderson. This grant is to be used to fund new biology, chemistry, and physics materials and equipment. The Parent's Weekend schedule is included in an article on the first page. Sean O'Faolain will be Monday's lecturer, his lecture is titled, "The Angry Young Man." In order to save Wooster's trees, Business Manager Arthur Palmer has proposed tying flyers to the trees instead of nailing them. The desk shortage in Holden Hall should be resolved within the next week. The Hell Week plans are due from each section by December 1. Page five has the athletics updates for the week. An article written by Dr. Viola Startzman on the symptoms of hepatitis is on the fourth page.

Published on November 9 of 1962, this edition of the Wooster Voice is a total of four pages. Sherman Adams political career is discussed in the far left column of the first page. The Faculty Club will be putting on a costume ball on November 19th. The Counter Challenge will have approximately 140 delegates in attendance. Four Wooster coeds will be spending their spring semester studying at the American University. A Peace Pilgrim stopped at Wooster. This is her third time walking from west to east in order to promote World Peace; this article is on the third page.

This edition of the Wooster Voice, published on November 16, 1962, is a total of six pages. The Counter-Challenge will have Dr. Arthur Larson, Director of the World Rule of Law Center at Duke University, speak this evening. The plans for the Constitutional Convention, occurring November 30 and December 1, are being finalized by the Student Senate. Two seniors have been awarded grants from the Rotary Foundation Fellowships for International Understanding. Page three is entirely an advertisement related to the book sale at the bookstore. Any athletic updates are on the fifth page. Wooster Day was initiated in Kansas City by Mr. William C. Craig. Members of the Marine Corps will be on campus this Monday and Tuesday for recruitments.

This edition of the Wooster Voice from December 7, 1962, opens up with an article about the possibility of a cigarette machine being put in the TUB. Some three credit classes next semester will be experimenting with only meeting once or twice a week and are supposed to use the extra time for their independent study project. From the monitoring of faculty attendance at chapel throughout the semester, survey shows that they rarely attend. The Thistle magazine will be releasing only one issue this year due to budget cuts. Pages three and four have the weekly athletic updates.

A mix of twenty-three juniors and seniors were chosen to represent Wooster in the Who's-Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Their name and interests are listed in the column on the first page. The Christmas concert will take place on Sunday evening. From February 10 to 17, Steven Runciman will be giving a series of lectures on the Byzantine culture. Many departments will be offering new courses next semester. The athletics section is on the fifth page. The roommate selection process that occurs just before the start of freshman year is discussed from the point of view of both a female and a male on the final page.
