Description
Written from discussions with children at a school, this book is presented as dialogues between an old lecturer and a group of schoolgirls, discussing the life lessons of mineralogy. In the preface, the author states that his purpose in writing these lectures, "...was merely to awaken in the minds of young girls, who were ready to work earnestly and systematically, a vital interest in the subject of their study." The dialogue topics are: "The Valley of Diamonds," "The Pyramid Builders," "The Crystal Life," "The Crystal Orders," "Crystal Virtues," "Crystal Quarrels," "Home Virtues," "Crystal Caprice," "Crystal Sorrows," and "The Crystal Rest."
