Description

This is the 3rd volume in the College of Wooster's Index collection, published by the fraternities at the University. The 1876 Index list the Secret Societies of Wooster, in the order of their establishment, detailing their members and date of founding. This volume includes information on collegiate faculty, students, preparatory, literary societies, musical department, as well as several "joke" organizations. It is stated that the 1876 Index is in memoriam to Alice Ziegler (~1854 - 1876). Additionally, this volume includes local advertisements from the time.
