Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the role motivation and academic success has on college students. Using quantitative analysis techniques this study found that parent, peer, and institutional factors are the largest contributors. Motivation derives from internal feelings that are influenced by external and internal factors. These extrinsic and intrinsic motives directly affect academic performance and mental clarity. Completion of my survey, discovered that motivation and academic success go hand in hand when involving its role on college students.
