Abstract

Queuing theory has been extensively utilized in many different industries. The modeling and analysis of the waiting queue can be used to effectively solve real-world problems. In this paper, we present the fundamentals of queuing theory and study one of its many applications: taking no-shows and cancellations into consideration for medical appointments. With modifications, we create our own model in a manufacturing setting based on the medical one. We present numerical results and analysis.
