Abstract

Même si la grande majorité des scientifiques sont d’accord que le réchauffement climatique est anthropique, nous n’établissons pas la responsabilité pour ces changements. La réalité de notre planète est que les systèmes naturels sont perturbés et cette perturbation est directement liée à l’influence humaine, par exemple, la concentration de dioxyde de carbone dans l’atmosphère ou l’exploitation des ressources non renouvelables. Cette étude se focalise sur l’attribution de la responsabilité autour des changements climatiques. Je voulais savoir qui est responsable pour ces changements environnementaux, quelle capacité sont-ils responsables, et comment cette responsabilité se forme. Pour répondre aux questions, j’essaye de diviser la responsabilité environnementale entre le gouvernement et le public. Cette étude, par une comparaison entre la France et les Etats-Unis, analyse les mots et les actions présidentiels, l’histoire et la politique des agences gouvernementales qui travaillent pour protéger l’environnement, et le pouvoir et l’influence de l’art environnemental et climatique. En réalité, nous sommes tous responsable pour l’effet de notre espèce sur la planète, mais il est important que nous comprenons quel type de responsabilité nous avons comme société, et comme personne, avant nous pouvons passer à l’action contre le climat et mitigeons la destruction environnementale.

While the majority of scientists agree that climate change is anthropocentric, we have yet to assign responsibility for these changes. The natural systems of our planet are disrupted, and this interruption is directly linked to human interference, such as the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere or the exploitation of nonrenewable resources. This thesis focuses on assigning responsibility in the face of climate change. My goal was to discover who is responsible for environmental changes, in what capacity are they responsible, and how this responsibility takes form. To answer these questions, I sought to divide responsibility between the government and the public. This thesis, through a comparison between France and United States, analyzes presidential words and actions, the history and policies of governmental environmental organizations, and the power and influence of climate and environmental art. In the end, we are all responsible for the effect our species has had on the planet, but it is important that we understand what kind of responsibility we have as a society, and individually, before we can take action against the climate and attempt to mitigate the destruction we have cause.
