Abstract
Serendipity in Liminality is a photographic exploration of the liminal space as it pertains to music performance, in both formal and informal venues. In photographing spaces ranging from formal concert venues to casual practice spaces, I was able to analyze how music affects both performers and listeners, depending on the context of the liminal space. Simultaneously, this project expands the understanding of liminality beyond solely an anthropological idea. Over the course of this paper, I will discuss my methodology in photographing, as well as artistic influences, processes, and an analysis of my various works.
