Abstract
With the belief that sprawling suburban development is negatively affecting our metropolitan areas, I evaluated and discussed the major areas of growth of suburban sprawl, as well as the costs that they have imposed on our metropolitan areas. I proposed that a method of combating sprawl is to use an alternative suburban design strategy called Pedestrian Pockets.
