Abstract
In this Independent Study, I have explored the features of a stage manager in the setting of a small and independent touring theatre company by researching the preexisting ideals of a stage manager, analyzing the alterations of function when applied to a touring company, and focusing on the assemblage of techniques and methods. By creating a specific model of a small independent touring theatre company stage manager through the production of Women of Ciudad Juárez written by Christina Michaus, I have generated an appropriate formulation for this specific production of theatre. The discoveries made throughout this process were the result of the success and difficulties of a small independent touring theatre troupe with limited resources.
