Abstract
This thesis uses literary theory and established forms of literary analysis to identify the components of Sesame Street that appeal to a child's literary identity. These literary structures establish an engaging relationship between the show and its viewers similar to the relationship between a text and a reader. This thesis also contains three original scripts written by the author to demonstrate the literary structures examined in the first two chapters.
