Abstract
ThreadTrack is a lightweight journaling application designed to help users capture daily moments and emotions through images, music, and short reflections. The app allows users to take a photo, link a song, and write a brief note about their day. These small acts of documentation encourage users to slow down, reflect, and notice how their experiences and emotions change over time. By turning everyday events into mindful reflections, ThreadTrack helps users form a stronger connection to their memories and emotional wellbeing. The purpose of this study is to design, build, and evaluate ThreadTrack as a digital tool for self-awareness and emotional health. It responds to the growing need for calm and humane digital spaces that support reflection without pressure or comparison. Drawing from research in psychology, neuroscience, and human-computer interaction, the project examines how journaling, photography, and gentle user interface design can improve mindfulness andwellbeing. These insights form the foundation of ThreadTrack, which combines expressive writing, visual memory, and musical emotion into one reflective experience. The broader goal is to contribute to the study of emotionally intelligent technology that supports users in understanding themselves. By encouraging small, mindful interactions, ThreadTrack shows how technology can be designed to promote calm, creativity, and emotional clarity.
