Abstract
International news continues to focus on the relationship between China and the United States. A rising China conflicts with the US, which seeks to keep hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region. The research examines the Sino-U.S. relationship by applying defensive realism, offensive realism, China threat theory, and soft power theory to analyze the South China Sea disputes, Taiwan issue, and the issue of North Korean nuclear weapon. As a result, defensive realism is apt to explain current the Sino-U.S. relationship about power competition, national security, and potential threats of influence.

近年来,有关中美关系的讨论不断抓住国际新闻头条,具体表现在崛起的中国与试图在亚太地区保持霸权地位的美国发生冲突。本研究通过运用防御性 现实主义、进攻性现实主义、中国威胁论、软实力理论来研究中美关系,分析 南海争端、台湾问题和朝鲜核武问题。研究结果表明,防御性现实主义适合于 解释当前中美关系中的权力竞争、国家安全、潜在的影响力威胁。
