Abstract
With human impact on the environment becoming more evident, solutions for educating future generations on sustainable practices are needed. The emergence of Earth Systems Science in the last century, a framework has been provided for understanding how different systems of Earth interact and react with one another. A greater understanding of human interaction with Earth and its systems could potentially rear a generation that is more readily able to learn sustainable practices. Using children’s literature as a mode of dissemination, a book has been written for kindergarten classrooms that endeavors to showcase how humans are as much of a factor on Earth as its other systems. This book, Terra & Their Many Dancers, utilizes aspects of creation myths, minimalist art, and simple rhyme schemes to subtly imprint the push/pull dynamic of a healthy Earth System, and humanity’s place among it.
