Abstract
This study analyzes the relationship between student performance and district funding. This is accomplished by looking at the public-school districts of Ohio, taken from the Ohio Department of Education. We will focus on how state funding affects the performance of districts. A fixed effects OLS model is used to find that state funding has a negative, significant, relation to district performance. However, the final answer is not to cut spending on primary education. This will be explained later.
