Abstract
In this work, we give a comprehensive examination of object detection, train a custom single-stage detector model, and implement a web application interfaces with the model. This will begin with an overview of the field of machine learning, before focusing in on convolutional neural networks. From there, the paper discusses datasets and backbone, key components for object detection. At this point, the paper will discuss the three types of object detectors before analyzing lightweight networks.
