Abstract
This project focuses on the importance of user experience (UX) in web design and the effectiveness of usability testing in improving website performance. The design of web interfaces is often influenced by the designers’ personal knowledge of the product, rather than the user’s limited knowledge, which leads to major usability issues. Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, with a significant portion of the world’s population using it regularly. However, the original purpose of social media, which was to facilitate the sharing of personal experiences and knowledge, has been overshadowed by commercial interests and algorithmic manipulation. In this paper, we present a new platform that prioritizes authentic communication and personal expression, aiming to foster a sense of community and shared knowledge among users. We also investigate the impact of UX design principles and usability testing on website performance. The paper also talks about many design principles and how these design principles were implemented in the new created social media, ’X-periences’. This platform aims to encourage users to engage with each other and learn from their experiences, rather than focusing on material possessions and curated content. By emphasizing authentic communication, I aim to revive the original purpose of social media and create a space where users can freely express themselves and connect with others.
