Abstract
I chose to write largely on three films--"Rudy", "Rocky", and "Glory Road"--because each excelled at portraying one of three major obstacles being overcome by the perseverance of well-rounded characters. I concluded my Independent Study with one sports documentary--"Hoop Dreams"--because unlike Hollywood sports movies; the film portrays real-life individuals that do not succeed.
