Description
The fall Annual Report Edition 2023-24 of Wooster magazine foreshadows the future of a Wooster education based on strengths in forward thinking, innovative academics, and collaborative inquiry. The annual financial review reports on the College’s operating revenues and expenses and highlights the ways donors have endorsed the Wooster education in the past year. Donors like Xiaorui “Ray” Bao ’11 and Dan Griffis ’94 share what compels them to give back to Wooster students and increase the value of their alma mater. Combined support from individual donors, reunion classes, and Wooster’s Women’s Advisory Board honor key figures from Wooster’s history including Dr. Viola Startzman Robertson ’35, medical director from 1956-79 and Vivian Holliday, dean of faculty from 1977-85, through new gifts to support funds in their names. The report also covers the evolution of the Pathways programs, experiential learning, academic programs, and employee engagement, as well as the latest achievements of athletes, faculty, students, Wooster Preschool, and other College news. Alumni profiles highlight the Distinguished Alumni of 2024: Bob Heatherington ’74 and Jim Maiwurm, among other awardees Reunion Weekend—an annual event that welcomed nearly 700 alumni from the classes of 1959-2019 in June 2024.
