Description

This edition of the College of Wooster's student run newspaper was published on April 7 of 2017, and it is eight pages long. The first page is headed with an article regarding the fraternity Phi Omega Sigma which has been de-chartered by campus council. The incidents that led up to this involved an off campus house party during reading days in which drinks were drugged, and the chanting of homophobic slurs. There will be four visiting professors joining the staff in the 2017-2018 school year made possible by the Reggie Williams and Dale Perry Fund. The results for the 2017-2018 Campus Council representatives are have been finalized. Security briefs for the past week are included on the second page. Jared Berg's article on page three is a reflection of the de-chartering of Phi Omega Sigma. Dr. Hiroshi Motomura, Professor of Law at UCLA, will be speaking at the 20th Bell Distinguished Lectureship in Law. A record number of international applicants have applied to Wooster for the next year. Daniel Sweat gives 12 suggestions on how to "Spice Up Your Spring" on page five. This weeks Recipe of the Week, also on page five, is not just a simple grilled cheese, but one with tomatoes and bacon. The Arts and Entertainment section, page six, features a review of the band Spoon, and the new Netflix original film, The Discovery. Two professors, Dr. Shannon King and Dr. Michael Furman, are featured in the Wooster Street Style section. The athletic updates for the past week are on pages seven and eight.
