Wooster, Oberlin, Kenyon, Denison, and Ohio Wesleyan leave the Ohio Athletic Conference and seek to form a new conference. Case Western Reserve and Allegheny also plan to join the new conference, which seeks to provide equal athletic opportunities for men and women alike. Excerpts from the new league's constitution are included. College students nationwide are more materialistic and career oriented than they were a few years previously during the 1970s. Tuition rises due to student misuse of college facilities such as vending machines. Colleges and universities across the country adopt stricter policies regarding fraternities and sororities.

Students protest a new policy requiring male students to provide proof of their registration with Selective Service before being eligible for federal financial aid. Computer theft is becoming a major crime the College of Wooster. A full page advertisement for Little Kings Ale takes up page eight. Page nine through eleven feature the athletic highlights for the week. The final page is an advertisement for computers now being sold at the bookstore.
