Description

This collection of letters from the author, Reverend John Bennett, to young ladies is, "...calculated to improve the heart, to form the manners, and enlighten the understanding," and was originally dedicated to Queen Victoria. The collection of letters recommends (in order) religious knowledge, polite knowledge (especially letter writing), accomplishments (needlework, music, dress, politeness), and proper conduct.
