Description
Published as part of the Metropolitan Culture series and arranged, "...in the form of a genial and chatty correspondence," this volume is a collection of 46 letters between an aunt and a niece. The 23 original letters from the aunt to the niece were published in the Delineator magazine. Rather than attempting to explain all rules of etiquette, this volume, "Treats of those errors of deportment into which young men and young women are apt to fall when uninstructed in the art of true politeness." In this first part of the book, the letters include topics such as engagements, wedding preparations, dinners, wedding presents, receptions, visiting, receiving guests, hosting dinners, theatre parties, gifts and gift-giving, and correspondence with friends.
