Description
The Young Lady's Guide to the Harmonious Development of Christian Character is a collection of writings originally written for the author's sister, and published for upper class women, but the author indicates that the, "...greater portion of it is equally suited to any other class." The author did not intend the guide to be a manual, but to bring up various topics that he felt women should consider about life as a Christian woman. This section of the book contains chapters about: "Mental Cultivation- Reading," "Improvement of Time-Obligation," "Christian Activity," "Dress," "Social and Relative Duties," "Marriage," "Submission-Contentment-Dependence," and "Self-Examination."
