Mary wrote this letter to her mother during the second half of her first year at college. The letter is written on cream colored paper in a card format with blue ink. In this letter, Mary talks about feeling down, but goes on to mention current events at school, her recent Valentine's picture sale, and Paul Richenbach wanting to take her on another date.
