Dear mother,

It is Wednesday and the day I write to you. Today has been a full day - classes all morning - & Chem. Lab. this afternoon.

Our room is completely furnished now and is lovely - We enjoy it so much because it is so homey - The girls are always in here. We cheer 'em all up when theyre [sic] homesick. We have lots of fun but I study too.

Greek is impossible sometimes

and I try to figure out how I can get it. It takes an awful lot of my time & then is so hard to understand sometimes.

Took a phys. exam - I'm all O.K. - had the largest chest expansion so far - weigh 114 stript & fine teeth. Those are the main things. We have hockey in gym tomorrow.

Would surely love to be home Friday for reception & even that of surprising you. It's pretty early in the year tho and then the cost - . !

Meals here are great. Every day I realize more how much you are sacrificing to have me here. It's costing so much - more than papa thought. - but I want to try and save.

(written down the side of the page) Boots & I - by lot or chance, got at the head table with matron - - - I like it a little.

Would like to know what day you wash so I can send my stuff home to get there that day and so

save time - my little clothes line is hanging in our room & we make good use of it. Have used the grill and dishes etc. This morning I got up & studied in the bath tub. Lights off 10:30 - on at 6:10 - so we can't study unless we go in the bath room.

It is great here and am enjoying every bit of it. Will write Anna Von Hook & send you letters back - Send me L. Dunbar's book also. French dictionary is not necessary.

-Lots of love & Goodnight-

Mary E.
