Description
This letter was written by Mary to her family on an unspecified Wednesday night. The pink paper is folded into a card format and the text is handwritten in blue ink. This quick note includes descriptions of Mary's dorm room and a telegram about one of Mary's dresses.
Transcription:
Wednesday nite [early fall]
Its been raining and storming and the lights are out - and Boots and I are writing home by candle light. My - we are so happy.
Our room is getting fixed up by degrees. So far we have 13 pictures on our wall besides 4 framed pictures of our family We have about that many more little etc to put up. Our pillows look so sweet We have our football blankets over my sedar chest & the "vic" over that.
Telegram from Leulla today. My dress is done but she lost my address - was a telegram. "Dress ready your address lost. send it. Do not laugh" I wired back
"Address eleven thirty five Beall. we roared - Love Thanks"

Ha! Ha! I suppose she'll send it special - so I'll have it to wear Sat. Nite Mary has a new taffeta (white) formal. - she says to tell you that is it only costing her $12.46 & a special delivery stamp.
I hope those curtains hurry up - Makes all the difference in the world in our room.
Think we will have to have a study lamp - our room is going to look lovely.
Wish these lights would come on.
