Monday after lunch.
Dear mother,
Your card came this morning so I'll send this - special maybe so you can get it off soon, the skirt I mean. You see the play is Sunday evening so I must have the skirt by Saturday at the latest - Sat. we have a dress rehearsal.
I think it would be wise to put it on a silk waiste [sic] because I'll be wearing it with silk blouses I hope - altho not for the play Sun. I happen

to have the leading part in the play. It's a darling part. Art Romig is in love with me and its hard to keep a straight face when he talks to me the way he does (He sits on the arm of my chair). It's a darling missionary play - and I have the longest part - but have it all learned. - However for the play I'm wearing a white short sleeved slip on sweater with the silk skirt. It's to be a tennis outfit effect.
Perhaps some time I can have a white silk blouse to go with it.

Am wearing my dresses short - but believe that to Esther's knees - and no longer would be alright. Not any longer than that tho.
Received back my Hist exam and got a "B." in it - at the end of the paper he wrote
"This is a good paper" - Horah! Think I'll major in History. When I announced a question about "Why the people turned against Chas. II" - In answering it I criticized him - as

typical of one of the Stuart kings and of course that was a little more than he asked - but he wrote at the end of that "A very interesting attack on the Stuarts." - -Don't forget Esther is larger around the waiste than I am. Will look for the shirt in the mail unless I get word from you. The play is next Sun. March 28. Are you all coming to Wooster. Ahem!
Lovingly.
Mary E.
Tell Fred to answer soon. I must know. Bob wants to get his room before vacation.
