Abstract
This paper serves as an accompaniment to the full song recital, as required of a B.A. Music Performance major. It discusses the history and context of each piece, focusing on the pedagogical recital and conventions of each music era covered (Baroque Italian Opera, German Romantic Lieder, Italian Bel Canto, Romantic French Melodie, Cabaret and Contemporary Song).
