About This Journal
Mission Statement
Black & Gold is an undergraduate, multidisciplinary journal committed to showcasing outstanding research and writing of faculty-mentored College of Wooster students. Through student participation in research, writing, and editing, this journal serves to advance the College’s graduate qualities of independent thinking, integrative and collaborative inquiry, global engagement and respect for diversity, and effective communication.
Aims and Scope
Black & Gold embraces submissions from a wide range of academic fields, with the understanding that meanings of research and source material vary among disciplines. The journal seeks articles that demonstrate the author’s thoughtful reflection and interpretation of an academic question. Acceptable submissions will advance an argument through analysis of primary and/or secondary sources. Potential submissions include research papers, lab reports, book and literature reviews, and argumentative essays.
Black & Gold is a publication of The College of Wooster, facilitated by the Writing Center.
