Description
This issue of the Wooster Voice features a report on a failed fundraiser for the Big Four, for which Wooster students only contributed $2231.90 (~$25,000 in 2017) of the $3,000 goal (~$35,000 in 2017). The failure was blamed largely on students who were study off-campus and the lack of facile methods of contacting them for donations. Also featured was a report on the dance and to be held the day of publication, a theatre report, and the creation of a memorial fund for coach L.C. Boles of Wooster. Page 2 contains an introductory letter from the newly created Wooster chapter of the National Student Association, an organization dedicated to furthering college education. Page 2 also features a piece arguing that in its fight against Leftist totalitarian communism, the United States has been too friendly to the autocratic rightist governments in China, France, Italy, and Hungary, and that it should be more careful when choosing bedfellows. Page 3 is the sports section. Page 4 features a pair of humorous columns entreating the men of Wooster to shave their beards through creative anecdotes, continued articles, and advertisements.
