Abstract
My Independent Study focuses on the Japanese-American experience leading up to their evacuation and internment, the experience of the internment and the after effects of incarceration. By looking at specific Japanese-American families I analyze how the internment affected each family and individual differently, but overall, a mark was left of the Japanese-American community forever.
