Abstract

Throughout the span of a week, this study examined the affects daily experiences have on psychological well-being among 73 college students. The psychological well-being was of participants was measured by looking at depression, loneliness, self-esteem and suicide ideation, and conflict with family, daily appearance, and being let down by friends were the daily experiences examined. Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that when controlling for self-esteem, depression, loneliness, and suicide ideation were predicted by some of the experiences. Daily appearance was a predictor of depression, conflict with family was a predictor of loneliness, and suicidal thoughts were able to be predicted by being let down by friends.
