Abstract
My Independent Study examines children's literature in France and the United States. I analyzed the work of one fairy tale author from each culture and one author/illustrator from each culture in order to understand the differences between French and American children's literature. The children's literature from each culture reflects the different values of each country and brings to light the evolution that has brought children's literature to the high standard it is at today.
