Associate Professor; Chair of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program: Christa Craven
The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) major at Wooster takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying the experiences of women, LGBT, and other marginalized sexual minorities in a variety of cultures across the globe. Recognizing commonalities between the struggles faced by these groups, WGSS coursework is constructed around the feminist principle of pursuing a more just world for all.
Recent IS topics in WGSS have included a study of contemporary approaches to sex education, a study of fat positive feminism in blogs, and a feminist analysis of women's under-representation in the field of physics.
The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) department is based in Kauke Hall.
