Description

Faculty discusses and generally rejects the "Objectives for a Liberal Arts Core" drawn up by the Educational Policy Committee, suggesting instead that the College needs is a "shorter and simpler" statement of purpose. Dean of the Faculty Susan Figge goes on leave, leaving President Stan Hales with a substantial gap to fill in the administration. The Ohio legislature amended its parental notification statute to require the written consent of one parent of a minor who seeks to obtain an abortion.
