This letter was written by Mary to her family in the spring of her second year at college. The letter is handwritten in blue ink on two sheets of Y.W.C.A. Tea House stationery. In this letter, Mary writes about possibly visiting Milwaukee, serving at the Tea House after basketball games, and prayer meetings.
Jan 10. ['25?]
Just a week ago today we were together. It hardly seems possible! Just had a special from Mrs. B[rowner] and Boots. There has been a mysterious thread running thru the letters from Wau the last of this week and today which leads me to almost suspect some plans they have for me for Spring vacation. Can you guess? Mary wrote a strange letter and then a card the next day with the following verse on it
If you want to make me happy
Just as happy as can be
Just pack your grip
And take that trip
To come and visit me ! ! ! ! !
Mary & Pops are going to Madison this weekend. Mary is a little better and longs to come back. Her letters every day have been wonderful. Pops has been lecturing in Chicago this last week.
I suppose Dad will be back when this arrives. How was the trip!
