Description
This issue of the Wooster Voice headlines the passing of Dr. Howard Lowry, the current president of the College of Wooster. Also featured is a faculty vote rejecting a change to the term schedule, a mock riot staged by the college and the National Guard, and a meeting of the National Student Association regarding changes in Congress. Page 2 features a declaration of the Voice's editorial intent, a statement on the loss of Dr. Howard Lowry, and a letter from a student who was offended the college would work with the National Guard in the aforementioned riot training, and a piece decrying the lack of accreditation for historically black colleges in the American South. Page 3 features faculty appointments, the opening convocation, and a letter from the Student Government Association welcoming the student body. Page 4 is the sports section. Page 5 features reports on Wooster and local news, advertisements, and schedule announcements. Page 6 contains continued articles and advertisements.
