MAY 25, 2016, 9:30AM - 2:30PM
Denison University, Burton D. Morgan Center, Knobel Hall
Wednesday, May 25 2016, the Ohio Five libraries will be holding their Summer Institute in Denison University’s sunny Knobel Hall. This year’s theme will be centered on sustainable digital scholarship in/and the libraries.
The Institute’s purpose is twofold. On the one hand, we’ll come together for updates on projects that have grown out of the libraries’ Digital Scholarship grant, recently extended by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. On the other, we’ll use some of the lessons learned over the course of the grant’s three years to discuss ways forward from here. Most generally, how do we keep pace with a rising tide of digital projects in both the research and teaching of our faculty colleagues? How might our roles and workflows acclimate to an environment in which “a digital component” isn’t the niche outlier but a matter of course? How might we all help our colleagues and our students grow into their roles as producers, rather than just consumers, of digital resources?

When you arrive at Denison's University main entrance (100 West College Street), head up the hill and then bear right at the top. From there, turn left at the stop sign (you're circling the Burton D. Morgan Center at this point). Follow that road and take your second left into the parking garage (the first is a service entrance). As you enter the garage, turn left immediately for visitor parking.
*A note about travel time: Please budget a bit of extra time for travel to Denison, as there may be construction on your route. Check Google Maps for accurate travel time and detours.
